Salzburg Christmas Market seen trough a Christmas tree branches

The city of Chicago and the Chicago Loop Alliance have launched a large-scale holiday festivities guide called ‘Holidays in the loop.’ Local businesses and areas have plenty of family-friendly events planned for the upcoming holiday season. There is the annual Christmas tree lighting in Millenial Park on November 22nd as well as the Chicago Thanksgiving Day Parade on November 28th. Other events include Caroling at Cloud Gate, Dance-Along Nutcracker, Skate with Santa at Maggie Daley Park, and several holiday theatrical productions.

Key Takeaways:

  • As we go into the holiday season, Chicago provides a variety of family events to attend
  • Start off your end of the year right with a traditional tree lighting ceremony
  • Theater, plays and acts of physical talent are the main events within this lineup

“Start your holiday shopping with one-of-a-kind items, including jewelry, fashion, painting, sculpture, prints, drawings and more on sale by student artists at this free event. The Holiday Art Market is supported by the Millennium Park Foundation.”
